Update on the LEGO/Saatchis China story

This went up on AdsoftheWorld.com on Friday night in place of the ads that were previously there. Turns out the two who created the ads have been given the boot.

What a price to pay man... shows so starkly the immediacy and the power of the internet to rally people together and how strongly companies view a bunch of negative comments as damaging to their reputations.

Scary.

dnt u think they need to grow up first? i mean to play a prank is fine... but we are all workin adults...define behaving like one? esp in e ad line..using ur co's name... i know its goin to b hard for them... bt some ppl jus gotta learn how to control boredom...like in this case... prank+boredom= expensive Consequences

Which goes to show, whatever harebrained idea you get, ideally have it backed by your organization ala UNICEF Smurfs bombing ad or at least, cover your ass.

creating the ad was a stupid thing to do but sacking them is a bit rough.
